The annual Carnaval on the Mile street festival returns to Miracle Mile on Saturday (11 a.m. to midnight) and Sunday (11 a.m. to 8 p.m.), March 3-4.
The family-oriented event features fine art, jazz and funk performances on three concert states, fine cuisine and children’s entertainment, along with a mile of paintings, crafts, photography and jewelry.
A preview is planned on Friday, March 2, at 6 p.m. at Art in the Park, held at Fred B. Hartnett Ponce Circle Park, 2800 Ponce de Leon Blvd., with the unveiling of the official Carnaval on the Mile poster.
Produced by The Kiwanis Club of Little Havana, the festival raises funds that will help sponsor youth programs in South Florida.
In conjunction with the festival, merchants along Miracle Mile will be slashing prices for their seventh annual sidewalk sale. The sale features markdowns from 20-75% off designer eveningwear, bridal gowns, sportswear, accessories, eyewear, fine jewelry, home goods, edible treats and more.
