The Coral Gables Planning and Zoning Board will meet and may make its recommendations on Tuesday, April 24, regarding truck parking in the city, as well as abandoned and junk motor vehicles. This meeting is a continuation of the public hearing held on March 26.
The purpose of the meeting, which will begin at 6 p.m. in commission chambers at City Hall, 405 Biltmore Way, is to allow the board to review and discuss the current regulations and potential revisions. The public comment portion of the hearing was completed and closed at the March 26 meeting, although the chair at his discretion can reopen and receive public comments, according to the city attorney’s office.
Meanwhile, the city again has extended a grace period before enforcement begins to provide time for truck owners to come into compliance with the law. The grace period now expires July 15. Fines are $100 for the first violation and up to $500 for each subsequent violation.
