When Marlene Bryan’s father passed away with unfulfilled aspirations, she realized that she didn’t have eternity to unearth her own mustard seed dream for a second career as a life coach and motivational speaker.
So building on her leadership experience in telecommunications, she launched her own business to help others develop themselves to “live a diamond life—a life of purpose.”
Ms. Bryan motived youth to pursue their own deepest passions as a featured speaker at a Coral Gables Senior High School inaugural “GPS for Your Future” pep rally April 5 for the upcoming vocational career fair April 20.
“When we use our mind to imagine and dream big we can go further. Don’t be blinded by what you see. You are capable of doing so much,” she told students filling the auditorium. “Go for it…You’ve only got one life to live, folks, so live that life and dream big.”
After hosting a college fair last October, the school Parent-Teacher-Student Association sponsored the event geared to motivate youth considering trade school, military service and other options besides college after graduation.
Other speakers were Gables 1986 graduate Charles Munroe, chief operating officer of Tuuci umbrella company, and Circuit Court Judge Marisa Tinkler Mendez.
